Miami, Florida, September 23, 2010 – Melanie Damian, a partner with the law firm of Damian & Valori LLP, was recently reappointed Chair of the Women Business & Commercial Advocates Committee for the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Business Law Section.
Ms. Damian will serve a one year term as Chair. Women business litigators have a large role in the committee’s leadership and now have a special home in the Women Business and Commercial Advocates Subcommittee. This group is one of the fastest-growing in the committee and provides a venue for women business litigators to network with one another and learn from prominent women business lawyers and judges. The committee seeks to increase the number of women who practice in business and commercial litigation by providing mentoring and programming geared toward women business advocates. At each annual meeting, the subcommittee hosts a program or reception recognizing and celebrating the accomplishment of women in the profession and particularly the judiciary.
