Tom is a trial lawyer. For over 30 years Tom has had the honor and the privilege to represent and counsel clients from all walks of life who have needed someone to fight for them, their families and businesses. The legal system is adversarial, complex and nothing like how its portrayed in the movies and on TV sitcoms. To seek and obtain full, fair and just compensation from another party usually requires a willingness and ability to engage in a battle. The process can take months if not years and requires very significant financial resources. Often, the final reckoning takes place in the Courtroom before the judge and the ultimate fact finders – a Jury.
We are one of the few societies in the world that have our legal disputes heard, judged and ultimately decided by a jury of our peers. Regular citizens are given the enormous responsibility of determining what justice requires to hold wrongdoers accountable for their actions by rendering a verdict after receiving all of the evidence from both sides. The jury system is an essential component of our democracy as it places the power of ensuring justice is served in the hands of the people.
Tom has represented clients in Courts throughout Florida and the United States and tried dozens of cases to verdict. His experience spans a wide variety of cases including hospital and medical malpractice, product liability, trucking crashes, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty, legal, accounting and other professional malpractice and a large array of other personal injury matters. The common thread allowing Tom to successfully handle a such wide variety of cases is his expertise as a trial lawyer. He is one of only a select lawyers in Florida, Board Certified in Civil Trial Practice by both the Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocates.
When Tom is not engaged in his law practice he loves traveling and spending time with his 4 daughters and grandson. He loves the ocean and the mountains and spends much of his time on his road or gravel bikes. A lifelong endurance athlete, Tom was a high school state champion and collegiate national champion oarsman at University of Pennsylvania. Once his rowing career ended he started cycling and competing in triathlons, completing 2 Ironman and numerous half Ironman and Olympic distance races.
